Corporate uniforms are meant to create a lasting impression outside as well as inside. To brand your business with a corporate label it’s important to create an image which works for both the employees and the public. A corporate uniform instills a sense of loyalty among employees and also boosts the public perception of the quality and reliability of the brand. With that kind of influential power corporate uniforms covey the message you want and that too quietly. There has been a paradigm shift in the corporate wears of the earlier times as compared to now.  Now even the corporate wear focuses on style, since people wear them to office daily.

The uniforms not only make the employee feel good but also make him feel proud of the organization that he is working with. This year’s New York Fashion Week brought with it waves of inspiration for corporate to develop their brand apparel. There are a number of new trends that have found their place in the brand apparel program for the corporate organizations.

First is the Custom Caps: Caps were always a unique feature and it’s not a surprise that caps are now getting hotter day and day. Nowadays there are more than one ways to customize these caps for service industries.

After caps, the next big thing is the performance clothing.  Performance wear is a functional, multi-purpose wear which has useful properties like anti-bacterial or UV protector. Some sports adventure companies are now trying to make performance clothing, a part of their uniform.

Then the next hit item on the list is Jackets which are popular mainly due to their versatility.  From winters to summers these jackets are the coolest gig on the planet.

Growing demand for plus size fashion.

Earlier fashion was for thin people. The clothes were typically designed and the models wearing them would be thin and lean. The image that was rampant would work only for zero sized models and that would encourage less-eating, unhealthy lifestyle.  However with the changing times plus-sized clothing took over the market and it felt like they are here from eternity.

Increasing choices are the need of the day

Every designer in the market is looking for plus sized models, like Marc Jacobs who is tweeting about his new plus-sized collection, and he is adding the big size dresses on the showcase instead of hiding them. Also Marks & Spenser is launching its plus size collection so that it can attract all type of clients. It has been found that 60 percent of American women are identified as plus. In a similar poll which includes 1,000 women from sizes 14 and up found that 28 percent prefer calling them ‘curvy’ and 25 percent would like to called ‘full figured’ then plus sized. To replace this suggesting term plus size some also suggested “normal”, “average”, and “beautiful”.

Gloriously plus size

The way the market is bringing the plus size from the background, it is also encouraging eating habits. Mintel, an international market researcher said that traditionally when women gain weight, they tend to shop less but with the market’s obsession with the plus size the shopping trends are increasing. Earlier the plus size market consists of baggy, dowdy cloths that carry zero fashion. Curvy girls like Christina Hendricks  want to hide their real size so these shapeless clothes do no good to their needs.

Why hide when you can now flaunt your curves

The boom experienced in the plus sized market is due to the fact that the designers and fashion brands have now analyzed the need for offering stylish clothes for this untapped segment of the market. This is benefiting the aging population as well.

Good designs!

What do you think? Is this change good or is it giving thumbs up to the bad eating habits which is generally believed to be the reasons behind obesity? Tell me in the comments section

Beautiful home furnishing is the next step after buying the dream house. Huge experience and innovation is required to give your home the classic touch. Earlier the trend was to use black and white prints but now dull shades are out of the color catalogue for most people. There are many new ways to do a beautiful home furnishing which has resulted in the evolvement of the trends. Traditional hand-weaved of Indian prints are used as an advantage to create a complimenting effects to the household.

There has been a mass shift of trend that can be seen with time for a beautiful home furnishing. More dramatic patterns and shade are used across the globe in every home. Among various items cushion covers, sofa covers bed sheet designs, drapes and curtains are the all-time favorite of all times.

Also there has been an uptrend of using rug patterned themes for a beautiful home furnishing. High fashion shows in 2014 was filled with lot of rug themes which were very much appreciated. Also many patterns and themes can me weaved on the frame and hanged on the walls. They give symmetry to the place and an inspiration touch to the walls.

To do a beautiful home furnishing one should always pick long lasting and cost effective prints which do not wash away with daily use. Mixing shades is again a good idea to give a blush to your home. Also one can experiment with the space available. Add a little theme here and there to cover up the empty walls and last but not the least, light up the place with different lights and chandeliers.

Beautiful home furnishing requires an inquisitive and innovative mind and above all one needs to have an insight to do experiments. How would you like to add magic to your house? Tell me in the comments section.

Welcome fashion aspirants and industry watchers to the Fuel4Fashion blog. Fuel4Fashion as an entity is nearly four years old, but my fashion industry journey began over a decade ago. In the period, the experiences and opportunities that came my way have helped shape Fuel4Fashion into the independent fashion design entity that it is today. The journey ahead is in many ways more exciting and challenging, and this blog will help me document the way Fuel4Fashion evolves within the international fashion design ecology.

Starting with a single client in November 2009, Fuel4Fashion today caters to an increasing number of clients looking for a freelance fashion designer and fashion industry consulting and advice. Clients span a number of segments from mainstream casualwear for men and women to active sportswear, maternity clothing and even ethnic designs with contemporary flavours from across the world. All these inputs have helped shape design thinking and the design process at Fuel4Fashion. In the coming posts, I will try to document the journey of fashion from the past unto the future and how it evolves as time goes by.

It is my ardent wish that the thoughts and ideas that guide my fashion thinking be of use to all of you in expanding your knowledge of this uniquely creative world. We begin with a brief history of fashion starting from the 1920s and going forward into the future. So do keep an eye out for the next post. Cheers!
