Have you started planning for your Spring Summer 2019 collections yet? If you haven’t already, now is an excellent time to begin. In this article, we curate the sportswear and active wear trends that are most likely to dominate collections in 2019, much like how athleisure is the running trend this year. Without further ado, here they are:

The Disruptor

Why follow the pack when you can lead one down your own path? This is a thought that every millennial understands, and as a consumer wished to emulate. Literally, the disruptor style is about making a statement in unconventional ways.

The Survivor (1)

  1. Statement Prints And Placement: Look to incorporate messaging in bold across a crop top, or a loose basketball-inspired pullover. Stripes are always in, except now, they’re coming to clothing in bold, vibrant colors.
  2. Street Style: Why do so many hip-hop dancers dress the way they do? Because not only do these clothes have a high style quotient but, more importantly, also a high performance aspect. Think loose joggers with a fitted bralette, or a bright neon wide-legged runner. It is all about comfort.
  3. Crop It Up: Style should be a bit risqué, after all! Adding oomph and function to these elements are cropped running shorts with mesh detail, loose tanks and bras that let the arms move.

The Survivor

With CrossFit comes the idea of endurance at its very extreme. 2019 will take this idea even further, and active wear for the survivor is on the cards. Clothing in this category is not just ideal for gyms, but also for surviving and exploring the vast outdoors.

The Survivor (4)

  1. Balanced Colors: Sportswear in the wanderer category uses an eclectic mix of warm and cool colors that are both earthy and vibrant. Think the skies, soil and desert rose. A clever combination of these colors can help build the idea of camouflaging while also making a statement.
  2. Stylish Utility: Who says reflector apparel should only be bright silver strips on a green background? As more people step out and run or cycle along the road, neon colors and metallic bases are sure to take over. Think metallic shades of rose gold or a deep copper tracksuit.
  3. Crisscross And Mesh: Giving priority to comfort again, mesh details make an appearance, adding a sense of aeration to clothing. Similarly, crisscross patterns offer greater hold and flexibility for high-endurance workouts.

June 27 2019 _ Sat _ 4pm onwards

The Activist

Do you care enough about the planet? Because your future customer surely does. The activist style is all about sustainable fabric, native prints and muted shades interspersed with those that make themselves heard, much like the activist wearing them. The Survivor (3)

  1. Swimwear Done Differently: Thanks to a conscious juxtaposition of colors and prints, a line of endurance swimwear that isn’t boring (finally!) is in order. It is all about staying close to nature, isn’t it?
  2. Futuristic Statements: An activist is only trying to make the future better, after all! This explains why spacesuit inspired garments and muted metallics fit for an astronaut are in order. Add in some huge floral prints, and you’re good to go.
  3. Standout Details: Interestingly, mesh detailing will be taken to a whole new level in this trend. SS ’19 is the season in which eco-conscious clothing gets a fashionable new update with huge mesh inlays.

 The Karmic Energizer

There is a positive shift towards holistic wellness, and all the fitness and meditation apps out there prove a point in this regard. Colors inspire moods, and this collection is all about using color to feel strong, centered, powerful, peaceful- the choice is yours. The Survivor (2)

  1. Blues, Greens, Pinks And Reds: Muting of colors is not a concept that belongs in this collection. The swatches here scream, ‘this is how I’m feeling!’ Think bright, happy colors.
  2. Straps And Bandeau: There’s nothing that offsets the effect of bright colors quite like a bodycon adaptation. Not only is the collection bright, it flatters your figure like there’s no tomorrow. Perfect for the inner gymnast.
  3. Geometric Details: Geometry is not limited to prints alone! Think steep-cut sports tops, yoga pants with horizontal stripes, and square cutouts on the sides of clothing. When it comes to shapes and their placement, anything is possible.

June 27 2019 _ Sat _ 4pm onwards

When you scan the runways this season you may notice something bold standing out from every designer. Prints have made a big splash this season, but how do you mix and match patterns like a pro? There are a few go-to art prints that every fashion lover needs in their wardrobe. By curating just the right prints in your closet, you’ll be able to take any outfit from ordinary to runway ready.

1. Florals

As with most prints, there is a right and wrong way to wear floral. There isn’t much middle ground when it comes to styling this pattern. With florals you need to go either extremely bright or completely subdued. A bright neon floral should always be paired with a neutral to avoid looking too gaudy. You can follow Peter Som’s lead by matching a bright floral blouse with a black skirt as shown in his 2012 runway show. On the other end of the spectrum, a subtle, pale floral dress may look too boring alone. Use accessories to spice things up. Metallic shoes or a bright red lip can pull it all together. Try to view the print as your focal piece and build the rest of your outfit to highlight the pattern.

2. Stripes

Stripes is a tried and true print for many of the fashion elite. Nothing is more flattering than vertical stripes and it’s hard to find something which can be styled in such a wide range of ways than a striped blouse. Stripes are one of fashion’s most versatile looks. From punk rock to prep, you can tweak this print in so many ways. Another benefit of stripes is it’s ability to play well with others. You can mix this pattern with another bold prints and look chic and discerning. Look to Juan Vidal’s Spring 2015 runway show for inspiration and you’ll be effortlessly stylish.

3. Tribal

A newcomer to the print party, tribal print has been making a big statement all over the runways. With a huge rise in popularity in the last few years, tribal prints are everywhere. You’ll want to be sure you don’t look too trivial when wearing tribal, so choose a print that is bold and unique. Choose a well made fabric so the print doesn’t stretch and distort on the body. Mara Hoffman creates stunning tribal printed garments and is well known for her body-conscious swimwear, kaftans and bodycon dresses. It’s an excellent choice for someone looking to incorporate more tribal print into their wardrobe and are especially perfect for summer.

4. Vintage

Whether it’s truly vintage or a contemporary reproduction of a vintage fabric, incorporating a reminiscent print into your wardrobe will make you instantly stylish. With the popularity of Mad Men, designer have incorporated vintage fabrics across the runways. Let everyone know you’re in touch with the trends by wearing a jewel toned jacket or retro patterned skinny pant. Pair it will a modern clutch and you’re sure to get jealous glances and compliments all day.

Every fashion lover has a favorite print, but by adding these artsy favorites, your ensemble will look contemporary and noteworthy. Experiment with combining these prints with your wardrobe staples and mix them with each other to freshen up your look and make this your most fashionable year yet.

Fashion for men has always been about basics and trying to interpret ideas along the current trends. For those who love fashion in its contemporary form, spring trends are easily intended for them. The runway shows and designer collections have a lot to tell on what we would be wearing in days to come, especially about the freshest season of the year. Here are the top spring 2015 trends in menswear!

The Best Trends to Emerge From Menswear Spring Collections 2015 – Get sporty

Get sporty: In the last few seasons, the athletic look seems to come straight out of the sports court to the ramp, and the trend has been rampant in both men and women collections. If you love being sporty and look more like a man with a cool quotient, the good news is the new element is everywhere in spring 2015. As for the cues, you can check Carven that has managed to make the baseball tee look more authentic than ever. When buying clothes online, you also need to own one of the caps, which have been used in some collections like that of Umit Benan.

Unusual colours: Pink for a suit? Well, this seems like someone mistook the women trends for spring in menswear! However, you will change the idea once you see the soft pink shade of suit used by Dolce & Gabbana for their spring 2015 collection. That is more like a bold statement that needs a lot of understanding and daring attitude on how to carry off the look without making it look funny.

Welcome the spring sandals: Most men will agree that spring sandals are comfortable and genuinely easy to carry off, and the look came to the runway at the Fendi collection. It doesn’t get better than wearing a pair of casual tees, shorts and a pair of casual sandals. Black and leather should be the ideal combination, but if you like experimenting, a few of the bold colours in sandals can certainly replace the crocs. Another strong contender is a pair of sneakers, which works effectively a stylish cool statement. Click here to check some fresh sneakers!

The Best Trends to Emerge From Menswear Spring Collections 2015 - Get the trench coat

Yes, you can now wear the spring trench coat like a pro without having worried on the statement. In the sudden spring rain, getting casual and effective with regular dressing ideas doesn’t get bigger and better than this!

That’s something we would like to own for the days when there is nothing new to wear, and you can trust this blazer to transport you to style zone.

Graphic T-shirts have become a major part of men’s clothing in today’s time. With the world a click away from us, every individual is well versed in matters that interest them and has an opinion or a perspective to share with the world. With the level of customization in the graphic t-shirts today, they have become a channel to show off talents and skills on a personalized level.

The first graphic t-shirt was seen in the 1950s that had prints of straight forward character licenses (Disney etc.) and holiday resort names. With the descend of 1960s, the printed tee gained a lot of popularity as it became a medium for the revolutionaries to present their ideas on music, politics and their attitude towards freedom. Among the most popular graphics were the rock bands that were in every person’s heart during the 60s. As the 60s faded and the 70s began, fashion house logos were seen everywhere and with the dawn of the 80s era, everything was available on a graphic t-shirt. Graphic t-shirts had become the perfect mode to express allegiance and as a means of promotion.

In today’s century, there is a graphic t-shirt available for every genre in the book. Television, radio, internet have become the major influencers for the next generation. From television show catchphrases to puns on social issues or politics have all become a part of the graphic culture. The more diversity and creativity present in the style, the bigger the market and the appreciation for the artist.

Graphic t-shirts collections are launched by fashion designers during the f fashion shows as well considering the popularity and the reach of the graphic tees in the younger generations.

Creativity plays a major role in the world of graphics. Graphic tees have turned into a business venture for anyone who wants to raise awareness and present issues in a better form than a newspaper advertisement.

What kind of graphics tees do you like? Let us know in the comment section.

Picking Your Valentine’s Day Outfit

I had done a post on the Little Black Dress a while back, and I thought this would be just the right time to take a look at it again. February is here, and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, all the ladies are just waiting to get jazzed up for that special night with their loved ones. This is one evening that you want to look PERFECT, and since it’s a Saturday night this time round, get ready for some serious competition from all the other pretty women around. All the popular hotspots are going to be brimming with beautiful ladies, and if you want to stand out, it’s going to take some preparation!

To help you choose what to wear, Daily Look has put together their best choices for the Little Black Dress The LBD forms the base of your look for the evening, and I’ve put together a couple of outfits – accessories and all – that I think will make your beau have eyes only for you the entire evening! Depending on your taste, pick which one of the two best suits you, and have a wonderful time with your special someone.Fuel4Fashion blog Little Black Dress ensemble for Valentine's day THE LOOK: The classy stylish you wants to be sure of creating an impression, and this outfit is designed to do just that. This pleated LBD with lace all over, extending to the sleeves and a high neckline highlights your face and arms to their best. The gold Arab style necklace, ring and bracelet, complemented with gold rod earrings and a vintage gold hair comb proclaim you the Queen of your beloved’s heart. Paired with a brown leather purse and high heeled animal print slippers, this look is definitely a winner!

THE WISHLIST: Those of you aiming for a younger, flirtier and more daring look can opt for this second outfit, especially if you want to attract some jealous attention! A bare shoulders sleeveless spaghetti straps LBD with a pleated fringe creates a layered classy look that will have your loved one looking at you in a new light. Pair this with black stone-studded platinum/white gold based jewelry, like this choker necklace, bracelet and danglers. A studded watch and black and white chain purse, paired with sparkling stiletto sandals completes the ensemble and will definitely classify you as a head-turner.

I loved both these looks, and if the evening program calls for a romantic, intimate candlelight dinner, I would go for the former. But if it’s a night out on the town, the second look is definitely what I would opt for. So have fun, and enjoy your special evening!

As all the fashion weeks come to an end, they leave behind the various trends for us to watch out for in the coming year. One of the popular trends this year was the high slit skirt. High slit skirts have been a part of an on and off trend that appears every year in different forms to dazzle us.

High slit skirts have become a part of fashion that every woman adores in her wardrobe to show off her feminine side that she contrasts with her professional self.

Amber Heard and Michael Kors collaborated to make this outfit the perfect combination of sophistication and sexiness. Many women were inspired to try the new emerging trend, which was followed by the boom of cotton blend maxi slit skirts on e-commerce sites like Ebay. For the spring 2012 collection, Peter Som predicted an upcoming trend by giving it his own flare of prints that were also a part of the collection.

Angelina Jolie , Amanda Seyfried , Karolina Kurkova(Photo Credits: http://goo.gl/Bp4ZhP, http://goo.gl/WevCLV)

Angelina Jolie displayed her elegance and classiness with this plain black slit dress that fitted perfectly to her slender bodice, while Amanda Seyfried contrasted the classics with a psychedelic print texture that suited her perfectly. Karolina Kurkova wore this number that is a signature style of Elie Saab’s femininity and drapes that are prepared for the woman wearing it.

Diane von Furstenberg, Altewai Saome, Jay Godfrey (Photo Credits: http://goo.gl/0gu8fl , http://goo.gl/V9kbcP , http://goo.gl/ZEHV9H)

The high slit trend was also present in many of the Spring/Summer 2015 Ready-To-Wear collections in various forms and styles that showcased the designer’s inspiration. Diane von Furstenberg presented her inspiration in the form of flowing checks, while Altewai Saome and Jay Godfrey presented a more chic style.

Jason Wu, Just Cavalli, Altuzarra(Photo Credits: http://goo.gl/DxaOnt , http://goo.gl/JpqLHe , http://goo.gl/fKecmR)

Jason Wu took the path of metallic shades and showcased a very humble outfit while on the other hand, Just Cavalli made a patchwork art of the flowing fabrics. Stripes’ being one of the other trends was a popular choice for the designers and Altuzarra presented his creativeness by combining it with an off mustard shade that changed the look of the entire outfit.

This trend inspires the designers to present their audience with a way to flaunt their femininity and sensuality with a simple look. The high slit skirts and dresses would become a part of every woman’s wardrobe to parade their style through the numerous choices that the trend is going to offer.

Don’t forget to get inspired from our other blogs on Trend alert 2015 – Plaids, Pocket dresses and Classic polo look .
